Really have enjoyed our stay here. This is the third year in a row. The staff is very friendly and the sites are very nice. The restrooms are very nice and always clean. I would definitely recommend this campground. Great job Rustic Timbers!

I have grown up on camping in Door County. My family and I have camped in many different campgrounds in the peninsula and elsewhere and have very close relationships with many of the campground owners. All of the owners are great people who have fun with their guests and treat all of them with respect. With the exception of the horrible owners here at Rustic Timbers. I will agree with most of the reviews given here about the appearance and cleanliness of the campground. The owners have clearly put a great amount of money into it. However they will find those modifications useless unless they bring someone else in to run the place and keep their horrible customer service out. We were laughed at by the owner when we came in to good-naturally tell her the wood they are selling at an inflated price hasn't been aged long enough and is not burning. We are very familiar with the speed limit here and always abide by it just as we do at every other campground. After idling our vehicle through the campground we were chased down by an owner who used vulgar language at us accusing us of speeding, which we had not done (our truck is a little louder than average so it probably sounded fast). I can excuse those things to maybe a bad day for them or maybe they have some issue with my family. However, after speaking with multiple other families in the campground throughout the entire weekend, I found that our experiences were minor compared to theirs. The final straw for me occurred in the office where I was shopping around their gift shop. The owner came into the office and started trashing another paying customer that she had just been assisting very loudly with vulgar language again. Our weekend was soured by the experiences we had here. We will never camp here again and we will gladly give our business to people that actually care about their customers.

Warning!! The people who own and run this place has NO regard for customer service. My family has camped there off and on for the the past 3 years mainly out of convenience of location. The first couple of times I just blew off the bad temperament from the owners and their kids who work the place. September of 2017 is the last straw. We will NEVER camp there again (we go camping in door county at least 6 times a summer)! I witnessed 2 other families treated very poorly besides ourselves that weekend. You have to be very careful about obeying the speed limit as there is lots of kids (understandable). My son in law and I decide to take our garbage over to the dumpsters which we idled our way to and from. Upon coming past the office the owner (guy) came out and said we were going to fast to which we replied no we did not as we are well aware of the strict rules. He then raised his voice a little and told us to "Just slow the F@*k down" Shocked at his reaction I asked who drives the blue dump truck thru the campground past our site during the day? Earlier that morning they were driving it past our site and gunned it in front of our camper going well over the 5mph and causing a dust cloud as well as waking up my 1yr old grandchild out of his nap. He then accused me of being a liar and screamed at me to "Get the F@*k out of the campground". I have never been treated this badly by anyone. You would think that customer relations is everything thing to places like these. I know many of the other owners of campgrounds up there and they NEVER treat their campers that way, even if they are having troubles with some campers. To top that off, we watched all during our stay as these same owners raced past or campsite nearly a dozen times on their golf carts WAY past the 5mph limit going to and from the office to their house. This road went right past our campsite. Just to get picky... they sell you wood that has not dried long enough to burn properly....so all you get is smokey fires. This has been like that for 3 years. The rules state that it is absolutely forbidden to bring your own (which we did anyway from down the road. DNR approved). The way we and others have been treated should be a warning to you all who consider wanting to camp at what I would rename as "Redneck Timbers Campground"

We brought our children here thinking that it was a great child orientated place to stay. At least that's what their website made it look like. Our children wanted to use the play ground. The equipment was made of all metal and concrete. Most of the equipment looked like it was designed for teens back in the 1960s. It lacked all safety standards for today's standards. When we were checked in they put us by a group of 3 sites. We were stuck between them and they were up late and yelling at each other and trying to scare each other. Thus scaring my kids. Then they woke up early as well. We did not appreciate that we were put so close to their sites. It looked like they had plenty of room to put us somewhere else that was away from other sites. We were scheduled to be there for 2 days and payed for it. I went to the office to ask if there was a fee leaving early and she said no there wasn't. She could have told me that there was No refunds, but she didn't. We packed up our stuff and got to the office asking for a refund and they said there were No refunds. Yes it was the same person that I talked to earlier. The customer service or lack of customer service was appalling. Needless to say I am never going back to this campground again. If anyone wants to go to a campground with good customer service in door county. I would recommend Tranquil Timbers. They treated us good and the kids loved the pool.

It was clean & well kept. We got yelled at coming in around 9 pm. We were driving 8 mph & your to keep it at 5. A group of people sitting outside the bar area screamed at us at least 3 times. We're in our sixties & have always been rule followers. Thought that was a bit extreme. The seasonals & staff should follow the same rules cause some of them were way over that 5 mph rule! Other than that we enjoyed ourselves!
